Gourmet food experience

Whole Foods Market in Kensington gives premium food at a *very* premium price. A wonderful food hall and great shop window installations make you hungry by just looking around.
The restaurants are also top notch. The sushi is rolled infront of your eyes and is a very refreshing experience.

Buying a house in London

Where do you start?
Every country has a different approach to buying and selling houses. I found a handy UK guide; firsthomebuyersguide.co.uk. What is very helpful about this site is that it takes you through the buying process step by step. Really simple and understandable.
Finding a property
When buying you need a site that gives you a broad selection of properties and secondary services such as mortgage and finance information. After using several sites primelocation.co.uk proved to be the best. It is souseful it even gives Land Registry Data onthe history of sales data for a postcode. Good stuff.

Holland Park

What an oasis! In the middle of London’s hectic wealthy west side this park is just wonderful. Containing classic English and Japanese gardens the space has many places to explore. It is rich with wildlife such as squirrels and peacocks. A charming spot to visit. Read more about Holland Park at wikipedia.

Thinking smart!

The Oyster card is a very handy way of getting around London. You can use train, tube and bus services with the card. It’s a “smart card” that acts as a ticket for all the main transport services. It’s cheaper than regular tickets and you can manage the account online. A handy little service. Read more

Getting connected

During the first months in London I had no internet access at home. As a result I used several wi-fi(wireless) services for my laptop. BT and T-Mobile are the popular services. I found BT to be very buggy as a service and the speed generally poor. T-Mobile whilst being expensive, was a reliable service. You’ll find the T-Mobile service in any Starbucks. PS. McDonald’s and public libraries also provide free wi-fi.
